Music

Add an original AI-composed track or a free Creative Commons song to your video, or no music at all, and set how loud it plays under the voice.

Updated October 10, 2026

Choose the music

In the New video window, under Music:

  • Composed by AI: an original track written for this video by Google's Lyria model (about 8¢ on your own key; the credit price is shown on credit plans).
  • Free music library: a Creative Commons track from Openverse, picked to fit, with the credit added for you.
  • No music: voice only.

If an original track can't be composed (for example, Lyria is unavailable), a Creative Commons library track is used instead, so your video never goes out silent. You're only charged for a composed track when one is made.

Set the volume

Music volume sets how loud the music sits under the narration, from Off to Loud. The default, Normal, keeps the voice clear. You can change it:

  • in the New video window, before you start;
  • under the preview, with the ♪ slider;
  • in the Audio tab of Assets.

The level you set is the level in your export.

Change the music later

Ask in the chat: "make the music calmer", "use something more upbeat", "remove the music".

Questions

Can I use the music on YouTube?

AI-composed tracks are written for your video. Library tracks are Creative Commons: the track and its credit are shown in the Audio tab, so include that credit when you publish.

The music is too loud. How do I fix it?

Drag the music volume slider under the preview, or in the Audio tab. Exports use the same level.
